technology technology makes it easy for scammers to get your personal information. one of these targets is facebook. in october.. hackers accessed 29 million users' data. but.. it doesn't just stop there. in tonight's consumer alert.. news 10's jada huddlestun is live with ways to keep your personal information private. rondrell.. i'm here at indiana state university. most people have cell phones nowadays... **everyone seems to have them here on campus. many people use several forms of social media.. it's easy for hackers to pick any one of those accounts.. and get information. and... if your passwords are the same.. you could be in even more hot water. i spoke with a student at i-s-u today. connor goff says his instagram account was hacked by someone in turkey. hackers were able to confirm his identidy.. change his password and lock him out of his account. he says this incident has made him more cautious than he already was. "after this happened, i went trhough and changed all of my passwords. this has made me hyper aware of my security and how really easy it is for someone to get access to those kinds of things if they want too." the indiana department of homeland security suggests changing account passwords often. you should not use the same password for multiple accounts. they say passwords should be atlest eight characters long. reporting live in terre haute. jada huddlestun news 10. the the "internet crime complaint center" helps sift through reports. it's a partnership with the f-b-i... and the national white collar crime center. you can report cyber crimes to the group at the website.. i-c-3 dot gov. if there's immediate danger... you should call
