it's a it's a nightmare for new parents...giving birth to a stillborn child... but an illinois family is using their experience.. to help others deal with the emotional pain. news 10 bureau chief gary brian sat down with the family today.. he has more on a new medical device that will help grieving parents. < "when a child is stillborn the experience can be very traumatic for the parents. now thanks to a donation, crawford memorial hospital hopes to ease those parents' pain." in 2017 natasha and dustin ruholl were expecting their second child. natasha's due date was just weeks away. but that's when problems began. "i realized i couldn't remember the last time the baby moved. and we ended up going into the hospital." doctors were unable to find a heart beat on the ruholl's unborn child. "the next day our son daniel anthony was born sleeping. he was three pounds ten ounces and seventeen and a half inches long. he was beautiful." the ruholl's love for daniel was no different than any other parent's. however their time with their son was short. "after he was born we were encouraged by our nurses to send him down to the morgue for several hours at a time. and i remember holding him and when i heard those words it was just beyond heartbreaking." the ruholls only had hours to spend with their son. it's an experience they want to help other parents deal with. the family partnered with madison's miracles to donate a cuddle cot to the crawford memorial hospital. when used the device keeps the still born baby cool. this means more time with the grieving family. "it's huge to us because it's never easy if you've ever experienced a loss of a baby. because at that time it's time to say hello and it's also time to say goodbye." "it means so much that we can do so much more for so many other families that also travel down the unimaginable path of loosing a child."
