think some people get that." the federal judge is ready to take serious action against those named in the vigo county jail lawsuit. one that involves putting county leaders... in jail! good evening and thanks for joining us. vigo county leaders were met with new demands from the federal judge at a meeting on tuesday... they involve the lawsuit against the jail... county leaders are now required to report to the judges monthly instead of every three months. the judge also left leaders with a serious message. news 10s garrett brown is live outside the vigo county jail tonight. he sat down with commissioners and the sheriff today... in tonights top story... he has more on the judge's warning... and what it could mean for county leaders. this was the first time sheriff plasse met the federal judge in regards to the jail lawsuit. even though the meeting went well it did come with a warning. start making progress or punishment will soon follow. <sheriff plasse was one of many who met with judge jane magnus-stinson tuesday. he discussed his efforts to meet the judge's requirements for the jail. "we kind of explained our challenges with that and the hiring process and had 10 people leave since january first for that were full time. so she understands that." but judge magnus-stension had another message. her patience is wearing thin. "she made it clear that she would not be afraid to consider contempt charges. i can see her putting them into this jail and say,' well since you don't understand what i'm telling you than you will sit in the unconstitutional jail until you understand them.'" all of the defendants listed on the lawsuit could be held in contempt in the vigo county jail. this includes the county commissioners, county council as well as sheriff plasse himself. a very strong threat to meet demands of the state. "it does, it becomes a reality that all the sudden we can be in trouble personally as well as in our capacities. that's her prerogative. she has the power to do that." plasse say's he will do everything within his power to meet judge magnus-stensons demands. he also urges everyone else to do the same before her patience runs out for good. "i wouldn't want to test it and when you say you will pick a site by may, we better have a site."> the county commissioners say right now they are waiting for appraisals for the three proposed sites. we will continue to follow this story and bring you any new details. reporting live from the vigo county jail. i'm news 10s garrett brown. back to you.
