dot com. hospitals across the country are starting to prepare for what could be a big loss in it's employees. its been a growing concern for years. news 10's richard solomon talked with a hospital recruiter today. he's live at indiana state university right now... he explains how the need is already impacting the wabash valley.. and how schools.. and hospitals are working to fight it. we went to social media to see how this could be impacting the wabash valley. just in one search there were dozens of medical positions available in terre haute alone. i went to isu today to talk specifically about a huge nursing shortage. it's a problem students and recruiters are preparing for. < alina steffen is a nursing student at indiana state. she realizes that in a few years there will be a nationwide need for nurses "ya know one day we're going to need nurses that can take care of you. it could be anything theres just anything can happen at anytime life is just unpredicatble so if something does happen you eant to be in good hands " peg hill is constantly searching for future nurses. shes a health care recruiter at union hospital. she says in a few years there will be drastic changes "a significant portion of the nursing care force is in the process of retiring" steffen says she's ready for the challenge of being a nurse. she understands it will take a lot of work to get there "it's hard..but you know you just have to keep positive..but seeing people like progress as you're helping them like would be such like so much satisfaction involved with that"> union hospital has training opportunities available for people interested in nursing. we'll put some of those on our website at wthi tv dot com. reporting live in vigo county,i'm news 10's richard solomon back to you the loogootee the back to you
