local sheriff's continue to react to a bill that could provide relief for overcrowded jails. yesterday we told you about house bill 10-78... it would allow judges to send offenders with low level felonies to state facilities. as of now, they're being housed in local jails. some say this is a big factor in the overcrowding problem plaguing the state. we spoke to sheriff's from vigo and clay counties. they say if passed...the bill could really help the problem. <"right now we're holding somewhere around 30... jon: so it will help you a little bit. harden: it will help some yes." plasse: glad that they're working to do something to help alleviate that other than we've got the lawsuit we're facing. we've got to do something locally. i guess it's nice the state's trying to put some discression in the judges hands. > another bill involving the fee county's get per inmate in jail is also on
