Brazil gets ready for multiple projects to improve the city

Tennessee Street in Brazil looks like a mess, but in a few more weeks this road will get some new pavement thanks to a grant from the state. David Krampe who lives on the street says it’s long overdue.

about a month to finish the project. construction season is right around the corner. that means many towns will soon restart multiple improvement projects. but one wabash valley town will have its hands full with projects... the city of brazil, indiana will spend thousands of dollars to beautify the city.. including repaving roads..and renovating old buildings. new for you tonight at 6... news 10s garrett brown has more on the projects. < last year the city of brazil received thousands of dollars in grants. now the city is ready to put that money to use. right now tennessee street in brazil looks like a mess. but in a few more weeks this road will get some new pavement thanks to a grant from the state. "there wont be no more detours or bumps. like what we'd classify as a normal road without watching for pit holes and all sorts of other things that you shouldn't normally have in the road." but road repaving is just the tip of the iceberg. mayor brian wyndham says the city will also continue replacing sidewalks along jackson street. work will also begin to improve facades on main street. all the projects will be possible because of community support. "the communities got to have that drive and a lot of it is community driven and that's happening. so the people in this community are really taking a progressive approach to things but we're seeing results from it." all of the work will take time and effort.. but residents we spoke with say it'll be worth it in the end. "i think in the long run it will be very beneficial to the people but everyone just has to have patience with it." mayor wyndham says after this year the city would like to focus on improving the parks of brazil. he'd also like to expand utilties to help draw in more industry. in brazil im news 10s garrett brown. back to you.>
