we told you yesterday it is severe weather preparedness week in indiana.. and today-- the state tested its tornado sirens. we stopped by "saint patrick school" in terre haute. new for you tonight at 6... storm team 10s chris piper shares how they participated in the drill. < tornado drill day. the test happens annually, and tuesday was the day for it in indiana. "we had a tornado drill, and they are done periodically throughout the year just so that in case of a real emergency, or weather condition, such as a tornado drill, the students in our school know what to do and where to go." bri dillahunt is a kindergarden teacher at saint patrick school in terre haute. she says teaching these kids at an early age makes her feel good, because it prepares them for any kind of event. "it is important so that everyone in the building can have, or know where to go so that they are safe so that no one gets hurt." and even at an early age, kids like gabriella cwerner know how important the drills are. "something like this can really happen, and can hurt people, and we want everyone to be safe." and by having a plan in place, both the teachers and the students feel a little safer. "it makes me feel really good."
