spring is spring is nearly here and the warmer weather will create the possibility of thunderstorms. storm team 10's brady harp is here with how thunderstorms are created. < if i wanted to create a thunderstorm across the wabash valley what i would need first is some moisture. there are three basic ingredients that would help create a thunderstorm the first being moisture. we would need that moisture to be coupled with warm rising air. that's going to create a storm cloud and usually to get warm rising air we will need sunlight. sunlight will warm air up and make it travel upward. now to create a strong thundershower what you really need it what's called a "lifting mechanism." i know that sounds complicated but here in the wabash valley the most common one is a cold front. that cold front is going to push that storm along and cause the warmer air to rise faster and it's also going to help the thundershower travel across the wabash valley. that's how a thunderstorm is formed. if you have any weather related questions feel free to contact the storm team through facebook, twitter, and email and we will answer them and maybe even explain them over the air.> now to the weather department... what are we looking
