Coach leaving after four years

Posted: Mar. 22, 2019 6:37 PM

The Loogootee School Corporation announced Friday that boys basketball coach Kent Chezem has resigned. In four years Chezem was 56-46. In 2017 he guided the Lions to a sectional title. Loogootee struggled this year, going 9-15. In February Chezem was suspended a couple of games for a incident. He did come back to finish the season.

Loogootee High School Athletic Director, Cory Julian, stated that an extensive search will begin immediately to find Chezem’s replacement. Julian added, “We want to extend our sincerest thank you to Kent Chezem for his four years of dedication and service to Loogootee basketball.”
