GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Eastern Greene football continued its dominant season Friday with the program's first ever regional championship. Despite falling into an early deficit, the Thunderbirds roared back to beat No. 4 Fountain Central 42-18.
Eastern Greene scored 35 unanswered points to end the first half, and continued that success into the second. The Mustang defense had no answer for the No. 2 Thunderbirds' offense.
Senior quarterback Caleb Hamilton continued to lead the way for his team. Hamilton contributed more than 450 yards of total offense and accounted for all 6 touchdowns on the ground or through the air.
Eastern Greene turns its sights to semi-state next Friday night. The Thunderbirds will go on the road to take on No. 3 Indianapolis Lutheran for a spot in the state championship.
