VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI)- Vincennes University is known for its affordable education. Now, the university is being recognized for its extra efforts to support military students.
They have been ranked 6th in the nation for being one of the best schools for military students. It was a ranking done by Military Times.

They listed Vincennes in the top 10 two-year schools. They took into account everything from military attendance to academic programs.
Vincennes has nearly 2,500 students are connected somehow to the military. This includes military veterans who are now seeking a college education. Students like Jared Allen who is finishing up his first semester at VU.
“I served five years as an active duty marine, I was a military police officer. I experienced a lot of things going to a lot of different countries and meeting a lot of different people,” said Allen.
He is one of nearly 500 Veterans at the school looking to forward their education. Allen says hearing this new makes him happy he chose to become a trailblazer.
"Honestly to me, it means I picked the right school to come to. So it kind of impresses me because there is a lot of university's and a lot of schools out there and to be ranked 6th in the nation it's pretty suppressing and impressive. It means a lot to me," said Allen.
As for the university they are looking forward to further educating those in our nation’s military.
