TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Learning about the importance of literacy.
The Vigo County Public Library partnered with the Indiana Reading Association today.

The event displays Vigo County student's work, and teaches them the importance of reading.
Representatives from the 18 local elementary schools were there to speak with students.
Organizers say it's a great way to get the community together for a great cause.
"We're just thrilled. Anytime that we can serve the community and provide a literacy based initiative with a turn out of this magnitude, it's a wonderful opportunity for us," said Holly Curtsigner, library youth services manager.
The annual event brings together families right here in Terre Haute.
