Police say 39-year-old Jesse Smith and 44-year-old Roxanna Smith, who police say are reportedly dating, were arrested.

Officers say shots were exchanged between Jesse Smith and a man who used to date Roxanna Smith. Police say Jesse and Roxanna fled the scene.

Officials say Jesse tried to hide in crawl space of a home on Washington Street. That’s where police say he and Roxanna were taken into custody.

Police say Jesse Smith is facing preliminary charges of Possession of a Handgun by a Felon, Habitual Traffic Violator and Criminal Recklessness. Roxanna Smith is facing a preliminary charge of Assisting a Criminal.

Officials say they were both taken to the Vigo County Jail.

They say no one at the scene was hurt.
