WBASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) - Three Wabash Valley schools have received a 4-Star status.

On Friday the Indiana Department of Education announced the newest round of 4-Star schools.

Jackson Township and Staunton Elementary Schools in Brazil along with Flaget Elementary School in Vincennes made the high honor.

Receiving designation as a 4-Star school shows academic excellence among students, educators and the administration.

Schools must meet certain criteria to receive the 4-Star designation. That includes excellent I-Step pass rates and must receive an A for the year.

Overall 238 Hoosier schools received the award. For the full list, click here
