One person in custody after Vigo County standoff

Police have identified the man as 39-year-old Joshua Lankford.

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - One person is in custody after a standoff in northeastern Vigo County.

Police have identified the man as 39-year-old Joshua Lankford.

According to the Terre Haute Police Department, he was located in a crawl space.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Terre Haute Police Department went to the home on the 9100 Block of North Baldwin Street to look for Lankford.

He was wanted for burglary, auto theft, and theft.

When police arrived they were told by a relative that the man they were looking for was inside and had multiple guns.

Police said the suspect did not respond to commands to exit the house.

The Terre Haute Police Department Special Response Team was called to the scene to assist.
