WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) - Strong winds are impacting many people in the Wabash Valley this morning.
Duke Energy is showing thousands of people without power. Several of these incidents are listed as caused by "adverse weather." For up to date power outage information for Duke Energy customers, click here.
Parke County REMC shared on Facebook it currently has over 800 members without power due to the high winds. The company says it has 5 crews working to get the power restored as quickly as possible. Their outage number is 800-537-3913 or download the MyPCREMC app to report your outage.
In the mean time, Vigo County 9-1-1 has issued a few reminders on its Facebook page:
1.) Do NOT call 911 because your power is out. Kindly call your electric provider and make them aware of your outage.
2.) DO call 911 if you see lines down or sparking.
3.) If you see a tree or a limb down, please let us know if it’s blocking a single lane or an entire road and please remember the location as best as you can. Call 812-232-3801 for trees down.
4.) For everything holy, secure those trash cans, trampolines, bounce houses, anything that can fly, etc. down!
