PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - Thick black smoke arose from the Simonton Windows building Thursday morning.
The smoke could be seen from miles away.
Paris Fire Department arrived quickly on scene, all employees were out of the building, and no one was injured.
The fire mostly took place on the outside of the building. As of now, fire crews were unsure what caused the fire.
Paris Fire Chief Brian Gates was relieved to see employees had followed the evacuation plan, and were safe.
"On their part, when I pulled up, everybody was evacuated. Staff came to me to let me know, showed us where the fire was, and how to get to it," said Gates.
The company is still assessing the damages of the property.
