TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A US Senator representing Indiana says he is challenging the health care industry to make a change.
Mike Braun stopped in Terre Haute on Wednesday.
The visit was part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Freshman Forum Series.
He spoke with business and community leaders.
Before addressing the crowd, he spoke with the media.
He said health care is an important topic, but he thinks federal government involvement, like the Affordable Care Act, isn't the way to go.
"Nobody should ever go broke because they get sick or have a bad accident. You need to be able to have your kids on a plan until they're 26. You need to cover pre-existing conditions and no cap on coverage," Braun told us.
He also touched on jobs, tariffs, and the economy.
