TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 20th. Then, make your way to Terre Haute North Vigo High School's auditorium by 6 p.m. That's when RJS Justice Services will hold its first public forum regarding its study into Vigo County's overcrowded jail, as well as the county's criminal justice system.
RJS began their study last week, and the commissioners tell News 10 they asked RJS to hold periodic public forums as part of the ongoing discussion regarding the jail. In this forum, RJS tellls News 10 they want to hear from the public. The firm wants to hear what the public expects in terms of incarceration, criminal justice, public safety and community wellness.
The commissioners say they're pleased to see the next phase of this study take place.
"We just want to make sure that everybody knows about this meeting so that if they desire to attend, they have that opportunity," said Commissioner Judy Anderson.
