TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - We now know the names of the officers that fired the fatal shots on 36-year-old murder suspect Mikey Reynolds.
According to Indiana State Police, they are members of the ISP South SWAT team.
The officers were identified as Eric Williams, a 17-year veteran, Joseph Livers, a 17-year veteran, Michael Lehmkuler, an 18-year veteran, Nicholas Yaeger, a six-year veteran, and Koty Seifert, a five-year veteran.
All of the men have been placed on paid administrative leave, a common practice in a police action shooting.
Police say Reynolds left a home located at 2123 4th Avenue armed with two weapons.
He allegedly did not listen to verbal commands by the SWAT officers and reached for a weapon in his waistband.
That is when officers shot Reynolds.
Police say they immediately checked his medical condition and called EMS.
Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was accused of killing Amanda Kerns and severely wounding another man at a home on Putnam Street in Terre Haute right before the standoff.
