Locally-owned grocery store Baesler's posted the following in reference to wear a face-covering:
"We have had a lot of inquiries about whether or not customers are required to wear masks while visiting our stores. We thank customers who elect to wear masks and practice social distancing while shopping with us, but until it is mandated by the governor we, unfortunately, do not have a way to enforce or police it. At this time, we do not feel comfortable asking our employees to confront individuals, nor do we want customers confronting each other in a way that results in a situation becoming volatile."
Dear Friends & Neighbors, We have a couple of things we would like to update you on. First, we are extending our hours...
These companies' measures go beyond US federal mandates on COVID-19 safety. Although no federal mandate to wear a mask exists, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says everyone "should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public." The CDC said that "face coverings are meant to protect other people."
