Police identify victim in deadly Vincennes shooting

A man in Vincennes is facing charges after a deadly early morning shooting.

VINCENNES Ind. (WTHI) - A man from Vincennes is facing charges in a deadly shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says 911 dispatch received a call about a person who had been shot at a house on 3464 Thunderhill Drive at 4:22 a.m. 

Police identified that person as 23-year-old Drew Allen Roach, of Vincennes. 

When deputies arrived at the house, they reported finding Roach unresponsive. Officials determined he had died, and they believe he had been shot.

Police arrested another man who was at the scene, Jacob Samuel Lacoste, 22. According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office. Lacoste is facing a preliminary charge of voluntary manslaughter.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office sent a statement on Wednesday afternoon saying they made a mistake, saying in press releases Roach was charged involuntary manslaughter. He was actually charged with voluntary manslaughter. This story has been updated to reflect those changes.
