Kids show off hats, whiskers at Dr. Seuss party

Kids got to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with stories read by the Cat in the Hat. There were also games and, of course, cake!

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.”

It was that message many gathered to celebrate Friday at the Terre Haute Children's Museum.

Dr. Seuss Day is Saturday, March 2nd but it was the theme of this month's First Friday festivities in downtown Terre Haute.

Kids got to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with stories read by the Cat in the Hat. There were also games and, of course, cake!

7-year-old Dylan Peterson was at the party with his family. He says it was awesome!

The fun and learning continues Sunday in communities across the nation for Dr. Seuss Day.
