Hoops for Hope raises thousands for good cause in Brazil

A basketball game with a lot on the line took place at Northview High School on Monday, but the players on the court weren't athletes.

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - A basketball game with a lot on the line took place at Northview High School on Monday, but the players on the court weren't athletes.

They were first responders raising money for an important cause.

It's called "Hoops for Hope".

The event pits Brazil, Indiana law enforcement against firefighters.

The money raised in this event will go to Relay for Life.

That organization is dedicated to fighting cancer.

This is the second year for this event.

The firefighters took home the win during the game.

Overall, they raised around $2,500.
