TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - News 10 and Crew Carwash have teamed up to honor first responders who go above and beyond in the community.

This week, Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse won the award.

Sheriff Plasse has worn many uniforms...from U.S. Army to Terre Haute Police Chief.

Plasse said he feels very fortunate to serve in the different ways he has.

"So I just don't see myself in that light. I appreciate that I was nominated for that and actually won this award, but I would accept it on behalf of everyone that works the road every day, answering the calls in our community and keeping our people safe," Plasse said.
