COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) - Barry Wolfe found himself back in court before a Coles County, Illinois judge.
He pleaded not guilty to 42-counts that are now filed against him.
The most serious charges are criminal sexual assault.
We still don't know much about the circumstances surrounding the charges Wolfe faces.
Officials say that's partly by design.
His attorney waived both Wolfe's preliminary hearing and formal reading of charges, which would have provided the public with these details.
The 53-year-old former AAU basketball coach initially had nine charges filed against him, all counts of aggravated sexual abuse, all class two felonies.
Of the additional 33 counts filed, 15 of them are for criminal sexual assault.
Those are class one felonies.
