TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - News 10 is asking you to nominate an officer you think goes above and beyond for the community they serve. The first Honoring the Badge award winner has been announced.
Sergeant Pete Holvey works with the Terre Haute Police Department. He has been an officer for thirty-three years. Sgt. Holvey was nominated by his two daughters. He says it is an honor to be recognized because he knows there are many other officers out there who deserve the award.
“It's an honor just because of how many officers that I know that are deserving of the award. I feel pretty fortunate to have chosen this career. I've been lucky enough to have worked with a lot of good people in this department and I know other departments have great officers. We're all doing the same job so I feel very lucky to have been chosen."
WTHI is partnering with Crew Car Wash to honor area law enforcement officers. You can still nominate deserving officers right here at WTHITV.com.
