WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Crews worked to put out a house fire in West Terre Haute.

It happened before midnight Friday, at 1642 Michaels Avenue.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire was an electrical short in the attic.

They say the fire was put out quickly and easily, but not without a heavy amount of smoke.

Sugar Creek Fire Department was on-scene to put the fire out.

Fire officials say the fire was contained to the attic.

They add that there wasn't any external damage to the home.
