TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Terre Haute house fire is under investigation.
It happened around 6:00 Tuesday night at 2315 S. Center Street in Terre Haute.
That is between Voorhees and Mortin Streets.
The details surrounding the fire are unclear at the time, but our photographer on the scene saw heavy smoke coming from the home.
Our crew talked with witnesses on the scene.
They told us they were driving down the road when they saw smoke coming from the house.
That's when they said they pulled over to see what they could do to help.
"I told my wife to pull over. Then I went across the road saved this old white woman and brought her next door. After I saw her I went to the rear door, got the kids and saved them too," Earl Vaugh told us.
The cause or the extent of any injuries remains unclear at this time.
We will continue to follow this story and bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
