TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) – Parke county fifth graders got their hands dirty learning today.
It was Conservation Day at Rockville Lake Park.
Students learned about forestry, water pollution, wildlife, and more. It’s an effort to help them learn how they can help protect the environment.
Parke Heritage and Riverton Parke FFA members helped experts teach them.
Students say this is a great change to take their learning outside the classroom.
Volunteers from Clay, Vigo, Vermillion and Parke Soil and Water Conservation districts and area Purdue Extension educators made this event possible.
