CASEY, Ill. (WTHI)-Riley Parrent is one of 80 students of Studio III Dance Academy in Casey, Illinois.

"This studio I’ve been with for maybe six months. I've done cheer and tumbling all my life though," said Parrent.

Even though she hadn't been at the studio as long as some of the other girls she still took Tuesday’s fire pretty hard.

"It broke my heart. It was the first thing I heard when I woke up Tuesday morning and I just wanted to bawl. But we had to figure out what to do to help Sam and everyone else who goes to tumbling and cheer here," Parrent said.

That’s why she was helping out Saturday with her classmates. They held a ribeye sandwich fundraiser with help from the Martins IGA in Casey.

Less than week after this disaster they are ready to do what they can. Including the studios fundraiser chair Leann Jones.

"I started about two hours after it happened. That was just the way I was coping with it. Like I got to get something done, my way to help her. So I kind of just started planning right then and there," said Jones.

Not only have the girls been raising money themselves but the community has been helping out as well. They have been reaching out in any way possible to donate to the cause. Including helping set up future fundraisers in the coming weeks.

"I’ve had people I don't know contact me saying hey we will donate a basket or a gift certificate to this restaurant so we are not even having to go out and try. They are coming to us and that is amazing," said Jones.

Studio III raised over $1,200 at their first fundraiser. Here is a full lif you would like to donate go here.
