TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Two different forms of art mixed at the Swope Art Museum Saturday. It was a part of the museum's Second Saturday Studio program.
It gives people the chance to create art inspired by one of the exhibits. This month's exhibit is Drawn Blood. The theme ties into the Vigo County Public Library's Big Read Program. The novel The Big Smoke inspired the exhibit. It's a story about boxing. That's why boxers from the Sweat Box Gym were the models.
Those who came out say it was a great experience.
Sweat Box Gym head Coach James Porter says, "It was fantastic. The way we got to sit down and look at the boxers pose and then sketch them. It was really fun. I didn't expect it would be this fun. It was really a good time."
This event happens every second Saturday of the month. The next is April 13th. The inspiration for next session is artificial intelligence. It’s free and open to all ages.
