One hospitalized after Vigo County water rescue

It happened around 6:45 Tuesday evening at Crossing Boulevard and Winthrop Court.

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - One person was hospitalized after a Vigo County water rescue.

It happened around 6:45 Tuesday evening at Crossing Boulevard and Winthrop Court.

That is just off of U.S. 41 near the southside Walmart.

Police say a car was submerged in a retention pond.

The driver was conscious and communicating with first responders as they worked to get her out of the car.

The driver was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment of cold exposure.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
