Abandoned home catches fire overnight

Crews say they found the structure 40% engulfed

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Firefighters were busy overnight at a house fire.

It happened at 404 South 7th Street in West Terre Haute.

Crews got the call a little before 1:30 Monday morning.

They found the home around 40% engulfed in flames.

The home had apparently been abandoned for several years.

No electricity was hooked up.

According to scanner reports, the fire may have started near a bathtub.

An investigation continues.
