Victim from N. 18th Street shooting in Terre Haute identified

Terre Haute Police have identified the victim from a shooting on Friday on N. 18th Street.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Terre Haute Police have identified the victim from a shooting on Friday on N. 18th Street.

The shooting happened early Friday morning around 6:30 at 4421 N. 18th Street.

One person died and one person was arrested in connection with this shooting. On Friday evening, Ashley Johnson was arrested for multiple charges including murder, armed robbery and others.

Terre Haute Police released the name of the victim on Monday morning. He was identified as 34-year-old David Carroll.

Neighbors at the scene said they were shocked that this happened in their neighborhood.

"It's been a nice quiet neighborhood since we've lived here. There hasn't been anything like this happen,” said Josh Niece. “We have a couple kids so yeah it’s defiantly scary to think that there were shots fired across the street."

According to court documents, Johnson is set to appear in court Monday afternoon in Division 6. News 10 will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest when information becomes available.
