SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Offenders at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility are helping feed hungry families.

They grew almost 14,000 pounds of food this year; which is almost double last year's amount.

The crops included pumpkins, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, and sweet corn; to name a few. Six different groups take that food, and give it to people in need.

The project manager hopes to grow the program next year with crops like turnips, cabbage, and beets!
