TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Have you ever wanted to do a triathlon but were unsure of yourself?
Well, the Vigo County YMCA is giving you the chance to swim, bike and run stress-free.
Beginning Oct. 21 anyone can compete in the Turkey Triathlon. It's the first time the YMCA is hosting this event.
The event challenges participants to complete 140.6 miles which is the length of a full Ironman! But instead, you get four weeks to complete the task!
And the best part is you can complete the Turkey Triathlon solo or as a team!
“That is what is fun. We're listening to members getting teams together to share the miles running or walking - assigning team members to bike or swim, negotiating who is doing which miles...” explained Amy Demchak, Wellness Coordinator at the YMCA. “It's a lot fun hearing people plan it."
Again, anyone can participate; YMCA members and non-members. The race starts Oct. 21 and you get four-weeks to log your miles.
If you're interested in signing up, please call the YMCA at (812) 232-8446 or visit them. The YMCA is located at 951 Dresser Drive in Terre Haute.
