VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Police have identified the person they say was involved in a Monday afternoon chase in Terre Haute.
It started around 3:30 when a Vigo County Sheriff's Office deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a Mercedes Benz around 13th and Poplar Streets.

Police said Wells had false license plates and an active warrant.
According to police, Nathanial Wells was the driver of the car. He allegedly fled the scene.
Police used stop sticks near 25th and Margaret Avenue. After running them over, Wells reportedly continued driving until his car became disabled near 27th and Washington Streets.
He allegedly fled on foot but was quickly caught by sheriff's office K9s.
He was arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment. Wells faces charges of vehicle theft, felony resisting, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving.
