WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) - With all this cold weather in the Wabash Valley many are wondering what is behind this change.
Storm Team 10 Meteorologist Kevin Orpurt has been looking into this change and has an answer for you!
The jet stream has dropped south allowing cool Canadian air to move in and high pressure is helping by giving a northeast breeze.
Eventually, the jet stream will rise back up and the high will move to the east, allowing warmer air to move back in.
This is expected to happen by this weekend, so warmer will be back and it will feel like August again.
UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
The Washington Police Department responded Friday around 2 a.m. to a complaint of a male subject being shot. The incident happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
