RICHLAND COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) - News 10 spoke with the superintendents of the West Richland School District as they are exploring all options to stay alive.
The district is in dire financial straits and had planned to dissolve into the East Richland School District.
However, the community created a petition to keep the district open and this month the West Richland School Board asked the superintendents to study the possibility of combining the elementary, middle and high schools under the same roof.
However, just this week another petition started in the district to restart the process to join East Richland.
The school board will meet again on October 21.
