TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Nearly 7,000 American Flags line both sides of a one-mile trail at Indiana State University.
Each one represents the fallen heroes from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Terre Haute North and South's Junior ROTC were there to perform the flag ceremony. Every name is displayed on large banners placed on the trail.
Organizers say they don't want people to forget about the ones who sacrificed.
“I think it's important to remember that it's still happening, people are still dying. And to honor those individuals who have given their lives," said Olivia Goulding, event organizer.
The display will be up until the 28 at 5 p.m.
