TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - When library branches at Meadows, Plaza North and Southlandclosed, folks around the Wabash Valley were left with two choices:West Terre Haute, and Terre Haute's main location near 7th andPoplar Streets.
Now, Governor Daniels' budget proposes a 15 percent cut to statelibrary funding.
Library administrators said the funding cuts will affect thestate library only, not local libraries. The state library providesservices to libraries around the state, including the WabashValley's two remaining branches.
But administrators said these state cuts will not lead to localcuts.
"Dont be alarmed, this is not a cut to local public libraries,"said the library's executive director Nancy Dowell.
Indiana's budget deadline is June 30.
The warmer weather is a thing of the past, and it's expected to get worse.
