TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The community welcomed a new business to the neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
The Vigo County YMCA hosted their grand opening ribbon celebration and open house Saturday.
The facility originally opened in June, with 320 memberships.
Now, members of the community, including Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett were on hand to celebrate the business.
"We felt it was time to have a grand opening and just show the community what we've done and what we have to offer, and sort of give back to them. We're having free fitness classes today, free child care, just encourage people to come in and try us out," Vigo County YMCA Director Eleanor Ramseier said.
Right now, the YMCA has over 1,000 members.
They have plans to add several more programs.
