VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - An Illinois woman is dead after her car was stuck by a train.
It happened just after 2:30 Tuesday afternoon on Rousillion Street in Vincennes.
Janice Blankenbeker,54 of Robinson, IL was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews report the crossing arms came down and trapped Blankenberk's car.
Reports say the Blankenbeker escaped the car and tried to lift the arms up.
When she couldn't lift the arms, she returned to the car and tried to drive it off the tracks.
That's when the car was struck by the train.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
