TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The week of April 22-26 is National Volunteer Week.
Across the nation, groups are encouraged to help out their community by donating their time to organizations in need.
Catholic Charities, combined with the United Way, Feeding America, and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, is promoting their need for volunteers throughout the year.
Those wanting to donate their time are encouraged to do that at area organizations.
Each day of the week, volunteers are asked to join in at the Catholic Charities Food Bank, Bethany House, Christmas Store, Youth Center Preschool, and at other Youth Activities.
On Saturday, volunteers can work as Kitchen Help from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Washington Police Department responded Friday around 2 a.m. to a complaint of a male subject being shot. The incident happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
