VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - County Commissioner has declared a state of emergency starting at 8 p.m. for Sullivan County due to flooding.
If possible, do not travel on secondary roads. This is in effect until further notice.
A level three travel advisory is in effect for Greene County until 6 a.m. Travel is not advised unless it necessary due to flooded roads and downed power lines.
State Highways 54, 59, 231, and 67 as well as several county roads are flooded and impassable in many spots. Also power lines are down and tree limbs are across roads. Small streams are flooded and ponds and lakes are overflowing.
Vigo County Emergency Management is advising you avoid the following roads in southern Vigo County due to flooding:
SR 159 between Harlan and Woodsmall
Sunset Pike and Springhill
Gross Road between McDaniels and SR 159
Elizabeth lane in Southwood
Cottom Drive between Stout and Van dyke
