TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - There is a soon-to-be battle brewing in Southern Vigo County. It’s following Vigo County's Area Planning Commission meeting Wednesday night.
Cobblestone Crossings Developers have asked the commission to build more apartments. But, the neighborhood across from these proposed buildings is not happy.
Tuesday night, no tempers flared, but passions ran high as Cobblestone Developers pitched their proposed plan to build more apartments.
In these plans were a proposed set back for each complex of between 50 and 75 feet from the property line; as well as a nature barrier.
However, unlike the agreement that Cobblestone and the Vigo County commissioners reached last year, this new platting had no wall.
For that reason, the Vigo County Area Planning Commission would not give a favorable recommendation to the project.
To the Dismay of cobblestone developers and the elation of Viscaya point home owners.
In order to go forward with the new plan, it appears Cobblestone Crossing’s developers will have to fix the plan to include a wall.
