TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - While many schools across the country are struggling financially, the Vigo County School System says it's on track for another year.
The school board approved the budget for the 2013 school year at their meeting Monday night.
One of the priorities for this coming year is technology improvements.
The total budget is actually $1.5 million less than last year
This is partly due to some debt payments falling off.
This brings the total down to $143.5 million for the next calendar year.
"We're very fortunate here that we've had an ongoing cost conservation program, that we've maintained a good cash balance in our funds, we haven't had to go to the taxpayers and present any major changes" said Donna Wilson, VCSC Chief Financial Officer".
From here the budget will be assigned to area schools.
