TERRE HAUTe, Ind. (WTHI) - Prosecutors have filed new charges against a man already charged with two counts of arson.
58-year-old Charles Dinkins is accused of setting fire to The Copper Bar and a home on Cleveland Avenue in Terre Haute.
Now, prosecutors have filed four additional counts of threatening jail staff.
He's accused of verbally threatening multiple correction officers while incarcerated. Dinkins is also charged with vandalizing his cell pod.
Dinkins' public defender told the court he plans to have Hamilton Center evaluate his client.
UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
The Washington Police Department responded Friday around 2 a.m. to a complaint of a male subject being shot. The incident happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
