SHELBURN, Ind. (WTHI) - The IndianaDepartment of Transportation announces that State Road 48 willbe closing near Shelburn.
Working in conjunction with Peabody Coal Company officials,INDOT will be closing S.R. 48 from the junction of U.S. Route 41 tothe junction of State Road 159.
The coal company will be moving equipment across the highway,1.56 miles east of U.S. 41.
The road will close on or after Friday, July 30 and could remainclosed up to five days. All closure dates and times are dependentupon weather and equipment.
No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however localresidents will have access to the point of closure. All lanes oftraffic will be closed at the equipment crossing location.
The official detour will follow U.S. 41, S.R. 246 and S.R.59.
